How does transport work with Logisticoo?
Order booking on our shipping platform is done via our shipping calculator. In the first step, you enter your shipment details and then select the appropriate transport type.
It is crucial to make the right decision when selecting the packaging material and to specify the dimensions including the packaging. For shipments over 30 kg, transport on a pallet is required.
Preparation for shipping bicycles:
After you have booked your transport and received the shipping documents, you can start preparing. If the total weight is over 30 kg, bicycles must be sent on pallets or be able to be parked on their own. You can find more tips on this below.
Picking up the bikes:
Our shipping employees usually pick up the goods from the curb. For shipments weighing more than 30 kg, it is important that they can either be moved under by themselves or provided on a pallet. Bicycles should also be packed in a bicycle box. Tip: You can often get these free of charge from bicycle dealers.
Delivery of bicycles:
Delivery and collection are carried out curbside. Our shipping employees unload the shipment at the delivery address and obtain your signature for acceptance.
What are the costs of shipping bicycles?
Bicycle shipping costs may vary depending on the number of packages, the dimensions of the packages and the shipping method chosen.
How do I properly pack a bike?
Safely packing bicycles is important to avoid damage during transport. Here are some tips on how to pack bikes safely for transport:
Cleaning the bike:
Clean the bike thoroughly to remove dirt and moisture. This helps prevent corrosion and damage to the paint.
Removing parts:
Remove loose parts such as pedals, saddle, front wheel and possibly the handlebars. Wrap loose parts in bubble wrap and secure them to the frame to prevent loss.
Protection for sensitive parts:
Use foam pads or old towels to protect sensitive parts such as the frame and shift mechanism. Also use special bicycle protective covers if necessary.
Dismantling the handlebar:
If the handlebars are not removable, rotate them so that they are parallel to the frame. Secure it with suitable straps or cable ties.
Protection for wheels:
Protect the wheels by wrapping them with bubble wrap. Fix them to the frame to prevent slipping.
Using a suitable bike box:
If possible, use a special bicycle box or a sturdy bicycle transport case. These are often lined with foam and offer additional protection.
Secure fastening in the box:
Secure the bike securely in the box to prevent it from slipping during transport. Use cushioning materials such as bubble wrap or foam to fill voids.
